Do you have a passion for preventing theft and the skills to investigate losses? If so, you could be the trusted, reliable individual we'd like to join us as a Loss Prevention Specialist in the St. Louis area.

As part of our Loss Prevention Team, you will leverage advanced surveillance technology to monitor stores activity, identify theft, and help protect the company assets. Using a variety of investigative tools and techniques, you'll proactively deter shoplifting while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Monitor store activity and detect suspicious behavior using video surveillance.

• Identify, deter, and investigate shoplifting incidents in a professional manner.

• Partner with store leadership to resolve incidents and maintain safety.

• Conduct floor surveillance when needed by posing as a shopper to observe activity, identify theft risks, and deter potential incidents.

• Communicate with law enforcement and serve as a representative of Dierbergs' security team.

• Prepare documentation and secure evidence related to theft or property damage.

• Provide training and guidance to associates on loss prevention best practices.

• Conduct audits and reviews of store procedures and video footage.

• Appear in court as needed to provide testimony.

About You

• High school diploma or GED required; coursework toward a Criminal Justice degree or related field preferred.

• Strong interest in loss prevention, investigations, and asset protection required; prior loss prevention, surveillance, monitoring, or investigative experience preferred.

• Experience in criminal justice, corrections, law enforcement, security, dispatch, or related fields is desirable

• Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. (Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between store locations)

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Annual licensing through St. Louis County and/or St. Charles County is required; all associated licensing costs are paid by the company.

• Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication skills when interacting with diverse associates, customers, law enforcement, and individuals.

• Must maintain focus, situational awareness, and alertness while monitoring activity and conducting surveillance.

• Demonstrate excellent observation, analytical, and critical-thinking skills while identifying suspicious activity, conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and documenting findings.

• Prepare clear, concise, and professional reports that accurately document incidents, investigations, and case outcomes.

• Maintain confidential and accurate records in accordance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.

• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of initiative, motivation, and accountability.

• Exercise good judgment and problem-solving skills when responding to incidents and conducting investigations.

• Proactively identify opportunities to reduce loss and improve safety and security practices.

• Monitor store activity from the sales floor while posing as a customer to detect and deter theft.

• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional hours outside of standard business operations.

• Perform all responsibilities in accordance with established standards, company policies, and procedures while maintaining reliable attendance and flexibility to work outside standard business hours as needed.
