Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, the Mail & Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining the equipment inventory and delivering mail across campus and off-campus sites.
Job Duties
• Deliver incoming mail to departments to all campus sites
• Process outgoing mail
• Tag new equipment and enter detailed listings of equipment into computer to maintain inventory records
• Assist in the reconciliation of equipment inventoried to the inventory control account
• Perform related inventory tasks such as assisting with transfer or surplus of equipment
• Assist in the pick-up, storage and/or delivery of furniture, equipment, and other property items
• Assist in the filling and delivery of stores orders to college departments
• Assist with the annual inventory of stores supply area
• Cut and maintain keys
• Drive delivery van or truck in performance of duties
• Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with inventory control, mail service, and working with the public
• Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate degree from an accredited institution
• Three (3) or more years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Technology Skills: MS Office Suite; general operating systems and data information systems
• Attention to detail and commitment to prompt service
• Ability to work effectively with all constituents of the institution
• Knowledge of inventory procedures and associated record-keeping
• Knowledge of postal regulations and procedures
• Ability to use software required by position
• Ability to walk to all locations on campus, plus regular travel to other campuses
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
• Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds
