An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Preferred QualificationsJob Description SummaryThe University of South Alabama’s Maintenance Department is seeking to hire a Maintenance Supervisor. Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position.Essential Functions- Assigns, supervises, and inspects the work of the electricians, painters, plumbers, maintenance mechanics, roofers and all other trades personnel, technicians and contractors in the maintenance and repair of buildings along with maintenance, repair and installation of equipment.
- Makes requisitions and/or purchases of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Keeps records and manages employees’ time, safety training, and makes reports as required.
- Assists with hiring, disciplining, and evaluating personnel.
- Assists with work assignments using applicable hand and power tools.
- Receivies work orders from multiple work order systems, contacts requester to clarify requested task, assigns and dispatches a trade and/or craft, tracks progress, attaches documents, enters critical data and finishes and/or closes work orders.
- Manages the maintenance department’s recyclable universal waste and employee safety training.
- Serves as essential personnel during University closings.
- Required to operate a motor vehicle to travel to and from work sites or transport materials and tools.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
