Global Merchant & Network Services brings together American Express' merchant and network-related businesses. This includes the management of our relationships across the globe with both the millions of merchants who accept American Express, as well as our partners in countries and territories that deliver card acceptance, issuance and innovation.

How will you make an impact in this role?

This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join a dynamic team that works across American Express.

This individual will work closely with leaders across GMNS, and partner business units to ensure strategies and deliverables meet the needs of their organizations and, ultimately, of our merchants / partners. They must also be comfortable with having a very “hands-on” role managing a significant amount of tactical work.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Vice President Assistant with overall deliverables and processes for the GMNS Executive office
  • Own processes to enable successful client meetings and events, including but not limited to, creation of client briefs in partnership with client management organizations, coordination of client events & ticketing, and facilitation of client engagements across Business Units
  • Develop impactful presentations, content, agendas, and internal processes for key internal and external meetings (e.g. Senior leadership meetings, leadership offsites, regulatory meetings, Town Halls, Annual 10K, etc.)
  • Assist in planning of internal and external large scale events
  • Manage projects, teams, schedules and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of a variety of deliverables
  • Develop and continue to improve internal processes with the other executive offices across the GMNS Senior Leadership Team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent project management, organizational and process/workflow skills
  • Outstanding detail orientation with ability to think and own “end-to-end”
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize, solve problems independently, escalate appropriately, manage tight deadlines, and handle changing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with exceptional ability to translate ideas and thoughts in written presentations
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization at all levels and work effectively in a collaborative, multi-cultural, team environment.
  • Strong sense of integrity, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Energetic, curious, self-motivated, proactive, and able to work well under pressure and in an unstructured environment with limited oversight
  • Team player, comfortable working in “white space” and willing to take on incremental responsibilities
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Three years of relevant work experience

Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
