Reporting Relationships
Reports to:
Executive Director of Community & Continuing Education
Supervision Exercised: Functional and administrative supervision is exercised over non-credit adjunct instructors and site coordinators. Functional supervision may be exercised over non-exempt department staff.

Job Summary:
The Community Education Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing non-credit educational programs and community engagement initiatives. This role involves working closely with local businesses, organizations, and community members to identify learning opportunities, coordinate instructors, and promote lifelong learning. The Community Education Manager ensures programs align with the needs of the community and college mission, fostering partnerships and promoting access to diverse learning experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and oversee a variety of non-credit courses, workshops, and events for community members of all ages.
· Identify community education needs by conducting outreach, surveys, and engagement with local organizations, businesses, and residents.
· Assists students with questions about course content, registration, and concerns.
· Recruit, hire, evaluate, and support instructors for community education programs.
· Process instructors’ payroll, requisitions, and supply purchase requests.
· Manage program logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, marketing, and registration.
· Analyze, develop, and implement programs for student retention, along with program, process, and service improvements.
· Facilitate the copy, content, and needed revisions of class schedule three times per year.
· Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to expand program offerings.
· Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
· Research and recommend marketing and promotional strategies to increase participation and awareness.
· Ensure compliance with college policies and relevant regulations.
· Oversee enrollment processes, maintain accurate records, and generate reports on program performance.
· Provide research and documentation for budget requests.
· Submit required and requested reports.
· Seek and manage grants or funding opportunities to support community education initiatives.
· Coordinate content for social media outlets.
· Represent the college at community events, meetings, and partnership collaborations.
· Perform related duties as assigned.
· Regular attendance is expected.

Qualifications:
In order to perform productively and successfully, an individual much have sufficient education and training in each of the primary capacity areas: Learning and teaching, Finances and budgeting, Promotion, Market research and needs assessment, Program analysis, Program planning and development, Program management

Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Public Administration, or a related field.
· One year of experience in program development, adult education, or community outreach.
· Strong project management and organizational skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proven success working with community organizations/groups
· Experience with budgeting, marketing, and program evaluation.
· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.

Preferred:
· Three or more years of experience in program development, adult education, or community outreach.
· Experience in continuing education trends and best practices in adult and lifelong learning. Bilingual

Work Environment & Conditions:
· Office environment with occasional travel required for community engagement.
· Some evening and weekend hours may be necessary for events and programs.
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for event setup.

Salary range

  • $59,000 - $61,500
