
Manager - Customer Targeting & Eligibility List Consultant
Job Description
The Manager, Customer Targeting & Eligibility Consultant is part of the U.S. Targeting Operations (USTO) team within the broader Enterprise Communications & MarTech Experiences (ECMX) organization at American Express. USTO partners with AmEx U.S. businesses to develop customer audience strategies and support marketing campaign execution across channels. This role is primarily focused on supporting the U.S. Marketing organization.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The Manager, Customer Targeting & Eligibility Consultant partners closely with Marketing teams to develop audience strategies for direct marketing campaigns that connect Consumer and Commercial customers with relevant offers and experiences. Acting as a subject matter expert in audience development and campaign execution processes, this role provides strategic recommendations and data-driven solutions that help marketers achieve campaign objectives.
This position is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely campaign audience execution by translating business requirements into clear operational instructions and collaborating with campaign execution team based in India. The manager also resolves complex operational challenges, conducts testing and analysis, and identifies opportunities to improve processes through automation and operational efficiencies.
In addition, this role serves as a trusted advisor to Marketing partners by providing guidance, training, and ongoing support related to audience strategy development and campaign list execution processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation to marketing on customer audience creation for card and balance acquisition campaigns targeted to Consumer and Commercial customers- this includes research on new data elements, reviewing segmentation, advising marketing on ways to reduce campaign complexity and associated operational risk, meeting with risk and analytic partners, and helping marketers submit requests accurately in our platforms.
- Reviews all list request submissions for accuracy, finalizes with marketing, and provides clear instructions to list execution team members to code and create file for delivery.
- Provide subject matter expertise to platform transformation team and participate in testing and campaign migration to a new platform.
- Troubleshoot and research any data anomalies or customer complaints
- Identify & implement process efficiencies and opportunities to simplify or reduce the number of list requests from marketing to free up capacity
- Train marketers on targeting processes
Qualifications
- College Degree required
Preferred Qualifications
- Strategic and logical thinker
- Understanding/experience with marketing operations
- Experience working with data and marketing platforms (e.g.- Unica, Redpoint, Adobe, Salesforce)
- Highly organized, able to prioritize and meet deadlines
- A "can do" attitude
- Creative problem solver
- Strong relationship and communication skills- able to explain complex/technical concepts in layman's terms
- Control and compliance mindset
- Big data platform/programming a plus (Hive, PySpark SQL, etc.)

Salary range
- $89,250 - $150,250 per year
