The AIM (Analytics, Investment & Marketing Enablement) team – a part of GCS Marketing– is the analytical engine that enables Global Commercial business portfolio of American Express. Accelerating growth momentum, increasing profitability, and powering up our value proposition are key objectives for this organization. It is the analytical engine that powers profitable business growth through consultative and innovative solutions across GCS. The team enables GCS Marketing business by providing actionable insights to drive business strategy and growth.

This Manager role would be based in New York and would be focused on driving 'Refer-A-Business & Co-Brand Digital Acquisition Analytics'. The incumbent will be responsible for driving innovative analytical solutions and strategies that helps in driving offer personalization and digital targeting by effectively collaborating with stakeholders across Global Commercial Services, Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions group. They will be challenged with designing and creating world class marketing analytics by leveraging machine learning, advanced methodologies and emerging AI.

A very important focus for the role shall be quantitatively determining the value, deriving insights, and then assuring the insights are leveraged to create positive impact that cause a meaningful difference to the business.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • You will lead analytical work that fuels the next generation of AMEX’s Commercial Digital acquisition engine. You will design and implement data-driven strategies, build scalable analytical solutions, and collaborate across business, digital, and technology teams to optimize targeting, personalization, and prospect conversion.
  • This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about digital marketing analytics, eager to help shape how AMEX engages Commercial prospects in a dynamic and competitive digital landscape and enthusiastic about emerging AI and GenAI capabilities.
  • Develop analytical solutions and data products that improve targeting accuracy, personalization, and digital acquisition performance across the AMEX website.
  • Own end-to-end analyses focused on audience segmentation, experimentation, funnel optimization, and identification of acquisition opportunities.
  • Build and enhance models and decisioning strategies, leveraging AMEX’s vast first-party data and evolving digital intelligence capabilities.
  • Drive experimentation, performance measurement and Investment optimization - designing test structures, evaluating results, and making actionable recommendations to improve conversion and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across American Express to ensure implementation of analytical solutions and ensure business impact.
  • Synthesize insights and clearly communicate findings and strategy implications to leaders and stakeholders across the organization.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement, bringing forward new ideas in digital analytics, advanced modeling techniques, Gen AI use-cases and scalable data automation that future-proof AMEX’s digital acquisition engine.
  • Apply emerging AI and GenAI techniques, such as intelligent customer journey optimization, semantic modeling and automated insights to enhance targeting precision and analytical productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics).
  • Strong analytical/conceptual thinking acumen to solve unstructured and complex business problems and articulate key findings to senior leaders/stakeholders in a succinct and concise manner.
  • Experience with building ML models like XGBoost, K-Means, etc with proficiency in analytical tools such as SQL, Python, or similar; knowledge of digital analytics or experimentation frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams and influencing decisions through data-driven insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability / proven track record of striking balance between thought leadership, and converting business needs into analytical plans.
  • Ability to manage several concurrent projects through collaboration across teams/geographies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics).
  • Experience in digital marketing analytics, personalization, website optimization, or acquisition strategy.
  • Familiarity with digital ecosystem tools such as clickstream analytics platforms, identity frameworks, or real-time recommender systems.
  • Familiarity and interest in applying emerging AI and Gen AI capabilities to improve digital targeting outcomes.
  • Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests, optimizing digital funnels, or improving performance through data-driven experimentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence partners and drive action.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with complex projects and the ability to articulate a clear perspective while maintaining relationships and fostering a collaborative environment.

Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
