Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) brings together American Express' merchant-and network related businesses to enable a sharp focus on using the power of our network to provide unique value to all our mutual customers. The American Express Network enables over $1.6 trillion in annual spend, serving our Issuers and Acquirers in more than 170 markets worldwide.

The GMNS Capability Delivery team within GMNS Product is responsible for modernizing and delivering core capabilities to ensure we can meet the unique needs of our Merchants, Acquirers, Proprietary Issuers and Bank Partners, and enable a wider variety of payments across the American Express Payment Network.

About the role:

The Manager, Digital Portfolio Management role is part of the GMNS Capability Delivery Program Management Office (PMO).This team drives program governance across GMNS’ portfolio of Enterprise Critical Multi-year Initiatives, Enterprise Top Programs, and Strategic Technology Priorities. The Manager, Digital Portfolio Management, will deliver program management activities aligned with strategic vision and roadmap. They will evaluate program processes to define and optimize capability delivery through analysis and understanding of Agile delivery methodologies, project management disciplines, governance, and compliance.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Enforce clear program and change management, turning complex elements into actionable plans for different audiences
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product strategy, product owners, business stakeholders, and technology partners to drive forward initiatives that cut across multiple domains
  • Create clear, effective communication and presentation materials to keep stakeholders aligned on strategy, objectives, and progress across program deliverables
  • Collect and analyze KPIs and metrics and integrate the analysis into meaningful reporting with a focus on managing program efficiency via reporting and dashboards
  • Facilitate meetings, status reviews, and executive briefings with clarity and confidence – focusing on key messaging for progress, risks, and impacts
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to the program and project practitioners on Agile delivery best practices and processes
  • Demonstrate a willingness to continually learn and implement process improvements within a dynamic and highly matrixed environment
  • Find opportunities to drive a culture of continuous innovation, and discovery within the product delivery lifecycle while elevating customer journeys

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in project management, agile delivery, and change management including ability to multi-task and handle shifting priorities with time-sensitive deadlines in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • A strong strategic thinker who possesses the confidence and composure required to effectively communicate across a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to handle multiple assignments independently with minimal supervision and adapt to change quickly
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Team player with a proven record of successfully building collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant years of professional experience

Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
