The Enterprise Platforms Loyalty & Benefits organization is looking for a talented and experienced Product Manager to help drive the strategy and roadmap of our existing platform.
You'll be working in an Agile software development environment with fellow Product Owners and Engineering teams to drive the platform strategy, prioritize the backlog, develop user stories, and collaborate across stakeholders to deliver on loyalty initiatives. You will lead a scrum team that is focused on maintaining and scaling our back-end platform infrastructure. You will consult with business and engineering partners to articulate outcomes and expectations, tie initiatives to key metrics, and drive consensus around Minimum Viable Product (MVP) definitions. You'll work with execution teams to ensure delivery of high-quality and timely software products. A key part of this role will be to build and foster a culture of agility and product ownership in close partnership with technology teams.
The Loyalty & Benefits Platform is part of the larger Enterprise Platforms Center of Excellence where product, engineering and delivery resources have been organizationally brought together to improve speed to market and further unlock value across core capabilities. Loyalty & Benefits Platform serves a broad set of products and solutions across the enterprise that require close collaboration with colleagues who develop new card products, digital channels, marketing operations, membership rewards, co-brand programs, card benefits, insurance, analytics, operations excellence, and servicing. We focus on powering both new product offerings as well as existing ones to build highly configurable core capabilities as it relates to account attributes, customer enrolment, offer & program set-up, qualification, tracking, redemption, fulfillment, channel & partner integrations of various Loyalty & Benefits products for our customers. Aligning to AXP’s framework for winning, we will create the world’s best loyalty & benefit experiences for our customers with a team of passionately productive software product, engineering and delivery talent using agile practices to build highly available, nimble, extensible & modern applications collaborating across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support product vision for the platform infrastructure to enable reliability, scalability, and global strategy.
- Advocate for the needs of developers and the business.
- Connect customer experience to the platform infrastructure requirements and champion the customer and business needs across engineering and stakeholder discussions.
- Build and actively manage a product backlog of features and capabilities that are refined and prioritized in close collaboration with the engineering and business teams.
- Translating features into prioritized user stories in tight coordination with other Product Owners and Product Managers
- Deep engagement and consultation with various architects, products owners, and business teams to understand current and future needs
- Full participation in and support of agile practices and ceremonies
- Communicate and build consensus across multiple teams in creating solutions
- Engage in day-to-day activities with the development team i.e., providing feedback and clarity on stories.
- Actively manage the team backlog by ensuring it is reviewed continuously, represents the most valuable items for delivery, and includes customer feedback.
- Provide vision to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements.
- Ensure that the team always has an adequate number of prioritized features and stories available to be worked by the team.
- Collaborate on release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities.
- Be an active team member in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working on/with software development teams in a Product Management role
- Technical knowledge necessary to propose and influence new features, especially in the space of scaling platform infrastructure
- Understanding of infrastructure challenges and experience building out large scale back-end platforms
- Awareness of latest developments, trends, and best practices in scaling cloud based applications and technologies
- Knowledge of Loyalty Programs and associated products is desirable
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the organization, including external partners
- Familiarity with agile and scrum software development methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to consult with various stakeholders and define optimal requirements.
- Problem solving, project management and analytical skills; ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree required (or comparable experience) in Business or Computer Science disciplines (preferred)
- Must travel on-site to office a minimum of three days per week, in alignment with team days.
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
