Job Summary:

The Manager of Marketing, Communications, and Media Services is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Volunteer State Community College’s marketing, communications, and media initiatives. This position manages advertising campaigns, communications strategies, and social media presence; oversees media production; ensures timely and accurate responses to public records requests; and safeguards the College’s brand identity across all platforms. The Manager leads efforts to promote the College’s programs, services, and events to prospective students, employees, and the community while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and institutional policies.

Job Duties:

Supervise staff and manage media production projects, including video, photography, and promotional materials. Develop marketing strategies and implement advertising campaigns. Identify, measure, and optimize effectiveness and impact of current marketing and communication initiatives through analytics and reporting. Assist in guiding creative direction for all advertising and public-facing communications, including print, digital, and video. Oversee all social media channels, ensuring consistent voice, engagement, and brand alignment. Ensure timely and compliant responses to public records requests in collaboration with Chief of Staff Internal Affairs. Research and recommend organic and paid acquisition media strategies, including content curation, search engine optimization, pay-per-click campaigns, special events, publicity, social media, and general lead generation. Analyze and report on student insights, trends, market analysis, and educational marketing best practices. Present ideas and final deliverables to internal and external teams and encourage collaboration within marketing programs and strategies. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.
Two years of related experience.
One year of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of five years of experience in marketing campaign development and implementation.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
Experience in higher education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be a willing advocate of the mission of the college.
Proven success in developing integrated marketing plans and campaigns.
Proficiency in social media strategy, content development, analytics, and reporting.
Understanding of media production processes, including video, photography, and graphic design.
Familiarity with public record laws and regulations and processes for responding to record requests.
Able to evaluate and maximize the impact of creative content across multiple marketing platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
Experience with marketing automation and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.

Pay Rate: $56,881 - $71,101 annual salary depending on experience
