Position Summary
The Manager, Marketing Finance is a key finance partner to the Marketing organization, supporting Marketing Vice Presidents and their teams with brand planning, performance analytics, and decision support. This role strengthens the rigor behind brand prioritization, marketing investment choices, and ongoing performance management by translating data into clear insights and recommendations. Reporting into the Director Marketing Finance & Business Development, the Manager partners closely with Marketing VPs and cross-functional stakeholders (Commercial/RGM, Supply Chain, Corporate Finance, Procurement) to support brand planning, budget management (AMP), and marketing effectiveness measurement. This role owns recurring marketing finance routines—budget pacing, forecasting inputs, variance analysis, and executive-ready reporting—while leading targeted deep dives (category, competitor, brand health) and ad hoc decision support projects. The Manager is accountable for creating a “single source of truth” across marketing performance and spend, including invoice/invoicing workflows, accrual accuracy, and vendor spend tracking.
Role & Responsibilities
Finance Business Partner to Marketing
- Serve as a primary finance partner to designated Marketing Vice Presidents and their teams, providing support on priorities, investment decisions, and performance outcomes.
- Translate brand strategy and commercial goals into financial implications, highlighting tradeoffs and recommended actions.
- Build executive-ready materials for brand planning reviews, leadership updates, and strategic discussions (clear “what/so what/now what”).
- “Accountable for improving marketing ROI and effectiveness by evaluating incrementality, productivity, and return across media, programs, and innovation investments.”
Corporate Development
- Build and maintain integrated financial models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to evaluate strategic initiatives, including portfolio expansion, new brand and category entries, route-to-market changes, and long-range strategic plans.
- Develop M&A valuation models (DCF, trading and transaction comparables, returns/IRR, accretion/dilution) to support target screening, bid strategy, and investment recommendations to leadership.
- Build joint venture, minority investment, and brand partnership models, including deal structure scenarios, ownership and economics splits, earn-outs, and partner return analysis.
- Support due diligence by translating commercial, marketing, and operational findings into model assumptions, revenue and cost synergy cases, and key risk sensitivities.
- Lead scenario and sensitivity analysis on strategy and deal cases, clearly framing value drivers, downside risks, and break-even thresholds; prepare executive- and board-ready materials summarizing options, valuation ranges, and recommendations.
- Partner with Legal, Accounting, Tax, and Becle Corporate Development on deal execution, and track post-deal and strategic initiative performance vs. the original investment case to inform future capital allocation.
Brand Planning & Strategic Decision Support
- Lead financial support for brand planning, including annual brand plans, innovation support, and key initiative business cases.
- Provide structured decision support for investment choices (media, programs, innovation, tactical spend), including scenario comparisons and ROI input development.
- Support “One Budget” thinking by helping evaluate allocation options across brands and initiatives based on priorities and expected returns.
- Supports long-range planning & brand value creation by translating strategy into multi-year investment roadmaps and financial outcomes.
- For innovation, partner cross-functionally to develop key economic drivers (SRP, margin, and scale economics) for innovation
- Own post-launch performance vs plan tracking
Category Deep Dives, Competitor Analysis & Strategic Recommendations
- Conduct category deep dives to inform brand strategy (market trends, segment dynamics, whitespace opportunities, risks).
- Provide competitor analysis and share/velocity/distribution insights to support strategic recommendations.
- Produce brand & category recommendations that connect insights to actions (where to invest, what to adjust, what to stop).
Brand Health & Performance Analytics
- Maintain brand health analytics and scorecards (e.g., distribution, velocity, reorder, same store and other agreed KPIs).
- Support brand P&L reporting and analytics, connecting marketing activity and spend to business performance drivers.
- Develop recurring dashboards and reporting views (PowerBI preferred) that enable Marketing VPs to monitor performance and make faster decisions.
AMP Budget Management & Spend Analytics
- Manage marketing spend tracking and analytics across AMP budgets, including budget pacing, variance explanations, and reallocation options.
- Support trade spend planning and reporting in coordination with Commercial/RGM teams, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- Identify productivity opportunities and spend optimization options while protecting high-return investments.
- Develops marketing/media mix / channel effectiveness analytics (inputs, assumptions, tradeoffs)
- Media/Program test-and-learn support (pre/post measurement, incrementality)
- Develops learning agendas that are tied to future budget decisions
Team Leadership & Development (as applicable)
- Coach and develop analysts supporting marketing finance activities; review outputs and raise quality standards.
- Establish clear timelines and workplans; ensure deliverables are accurate, insights-led, and on time.

- Spend visibility and discipline improve: AMP budgets are well-managed, pacing is controlled, and variance drivers are understood early.
- Marketing invoicing runs smoothly: Invoices are processed on time, aligned to approvals/POs/SOWs, accruals are accurate, and compliance issues decrease.
- Governance strengthens: The organization gains a reliable “single source of truth” for marketing spend and performance, enabling faster, higher-quality leadership decisions.

Knowledge and Experience
- 5-7 years in Finance (Marketing Finance, Commercial Finance, FP&A, Private Equity or related field), with demonstrated strategic partnering.
- Bachelors in Accounting, Economics or Finance preferred MBA a plus
- Strong Knowledge of financial modeling, Valuation and executive communication & presentation skills required.
- Advanced(PowerPoint); PowerBI/dashboarding strongly preferred.
- Experience partnering with marketing stakeholders and supporting decision making strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to operate cross-functionally required
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and produce results required.
- Ability to travel as needed and willingness to work in the Jersey City, NJ office three/ four days per week.
- Language skills: English Spanish a plus
The salary range for this role is a base salary of $ 110,000 - $130,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, and medical and wellness benefits. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience and skill set against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
