Overview:

The American Express Talent Planning & Performance team focuses on helping colleagues reach their full potential and know where they stand, and enables leaders to drive business growth.This newly created Manager, Enterprise Talent & Succession Planning and Performance Management role will report into the VP, Talent Planning & Performance and is an exciting opportunity to plan and deliver against our enterprise-wide talent planning and performance management processes and initiatives.

The position requires analytical thinking, consultative skills and adaptability to work across multiple stakeholders and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. A successful candidate will bring strategic and innovative thinking, possess strong project management skills, and can develop and execute solutions to drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project management of the annual performance and talent planning cycles, including goal setting, talent & succession planning, performance check-ins, and year-end processes - Support through all phases of strategic planning, implementation, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with our CEG product teams to continually drive enhancements that improve the user experience in the Career & Performance platform
  • Develop and execute impactful communication and engagement strategies that center on the colleague experience
  • Analyze talent/performance data to generate insights, inform strategy, and guide decision-making
  • Ensure strong governance and compliance by partnering with risk teams to maintain appropriate controls across performance and talent processes
  • Research industry trends, best practices and analyze internal feedback to continuously improve performance and talent management processes
  • Collaborate across the Talent COE and broader CEG organization to deliver on key priorities and initiatives

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a strategic HR or Talent role, ideally with talent and/or performance management experience in a global organization
  • Proven project management capabilities, including attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing presentations for senior and/or large audiences
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity with agility and flexibility; highly organized with strong prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and synthesizing data to inform decisions and measure impact
  • Strong stakeholder management and consultative skills, with the ability to influence across diverse groups
  • Experience driving organizational and cultural change management is a plus
