Team Overview
The U.S. Consumer Services and Enterprise Digital Technology Team unifies essential strategic technology functions, including digital experience engineering, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle services, and automation. All of these are built upon a robust data technology framework that emphasizes data governance and management. The team is dedicated to developing customer-facing capabilities that strengthen and broaden digital engagement, as well as core technical competencies that serve multiple business lines and customer segments.
Our organization encompasses the US Consumer Services Cross Platform Delivery Team’s Strategic Initiatives group. This group is responsible for overseeing the planning and delivery of technical products at scale, seamlessly coordinating efforts across platforms, delivery teams, and external partners. Their strategic technology expertise enables efficient and elective market delivery of innovative products and solutions.
Role of the Technical Program Manager
The Technical Program Manager is crucial in accelerating the success of USCS Tech by identifying, driving, and taking ownership of key strategic initiatives. We are looking for a forward-thinking, enthusiastic, and diligent technologist who thrives in collaborative environments. The ideal candidate will work alongside the team to create solutions that boost engagement and loyalty among our current cardmembers and attract new customers to the Amex brand. This position requires close collaboration with business partners, project managers, technical engineers, and leadership to ensure comprehensive, efficient, and standards-aligned solutions.

Focus Areas
• Act as a proactive driver for USCDT, partnering with stakeholders throughout
Technology to lead strategic programs.
• Build strong working relationships across the business, including with teams,
business partners, and senior leaders, to enhance collaboration, resolve
challenges, remove obstacles, and create impactful solutions.
• Lead technical discussions related to project plans, ensuring alignment across
various teams.
• Collaborate with leadership and internal partners to assess and develop insights on opportunities that influence the strategic direction of projects.
• Lead essential governance discussions and deliver program communication and
training strategies.
• Work with program teams and partners to address and resolve program- and
project-level risks and issues.
• Negotiate and influence cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate and
sustained resource engagement throughout project execution.
• Anticipate risks and issues at the program level, ensuring that elective mitigation
plans are in place to safeguard delivery timelines and objectives.
• Support the ongoing development of marketing technology strategy documents.
• Collaborate with cross-platform development teams on major programs.
• Take ownership of or provide essential input into the measurement and tracking of key goals, metrics, and executive-level reporting.
• Exhibit inspiring leadership throughout all initiatives and interactions.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams, build and leverage strong working relationships, and guide diverse opinions to consensus.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives, priorities, and teams
effectively.
• Skill in clarifying objectives, managing ambiguity and undefined problems,
advocating for simplification, and influencing teams.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with experience engaging and
influencing cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders.
• Strong knowledge of project management processes, including the use of project management software tools, templates, and management techniques.
• Proactive collaborator who builds trust through transparency and delivering on
commitments.
• Proven capability to manage change in a dynamic environment and influence others without direct authority.
• Commitment to questioning assumptions, challenging the status quo, and pursuing continuous improvement.
• Never settles for being “good enough.”
• Familiarity with the Customer Marketing technology ecosystem and related
programs is preferred.
Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
