The Manager of Web Analytics will drive the strategy and execution of web tagging to ensure accurate data collection, providing key insights to optimize digital performance. This role involves managing web analytics frameworks, implementing robust tagging strategies, and delivering actionable, data-driven insights to improve website performance and user experience. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in web tagging technologies, analytics, and data visualization, with a proven track record of leveraging these tools to drive business success.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous optimization of web tagging strategies to ensure accurate capture of website interactions, conversions, and user journeys.
  • Oversee the setup and management of the Tag Management System (TMS), ensuring seamless deployment, testing, and maintenance of web tags across websites and mobile platforms.
  • Partner with marketing, product, and IT teams to define and refine tagging requirements for website features, marketing campaigns, A/B tests, and product launches.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Web Analytics to assist in developing and implement a comprehensive analytics framework that aligns business goals, KPIs, and tracking metrics.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate deployment and tracking. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve tagging issues and data discrepancies.
  • Support the development of analytics reports and dashboards that deliver actionable insights into website performance, user behavior, and conversion funnels.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data collected through web tags. Collaborate with analytics teams to validate data flow and resolve discrepancies across platforms.
  • Maintain clear documentation of tagging standards, implementation procedures, and best practices. Educate internal teams to ensure consistent application of these standards.
  • Identify opportunities for advanced tagging solutions such as custom event tracking, dynamic content tagging, and eCommerce tracking. Collaborate with web analytics and marketing teams to implement these enhancements.
  • Work with the Senior Manager of Web Analytics to ensure proper integration of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) with web tags for accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Actively collaborate with development, marketing, and product teams to align tagging strategies with business objectives and website improvements.
  • Collaborate with the web analytics team to monitor tag performance and website metrics, ensuring that tagging does not negatively affect load times or user experience.
  • Continuously stay up to date with the latest trends in web analytics, tagging technologies, and digital marketing, recommending new tools and methodologies to enhance capabilities.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, marketing, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in web tagging, web analytics, digital marketing, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Expertise with Tag Management Systems (e.g., Tealium [Preferred], Google Tag Manager), along with strong fa web analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar. Proficiency in web tagging technologies, including tracking user interactions, events, conversions, and eCommerce activities across websites and mobile platforms. Strong proficiency in SQL for data retrieval from databases. Advanced skills in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) to design interactive dashboards and deliver insights that influence business decisions. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Experience with JavaScript or similar languages for customizing and troubleshooting web tags and event tracking. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality. Experience with eCommerce tracking and advanced tracking solutions for transactions, product views, cart abandonment, and checkout flows. Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with marketing, product, IT, and development teams to define, implement, and optimize tagging requirements. A passion for staying current with industry trends and best practices in web analytics, tagging technologies, and digital marketing tools, along with the ability to recommend new solutions to improve performance.
