Position Overview:
The Local Marketing Specialist (LMS) supports the Local Marketing Manager (LMM) in executing field-level marketing strategies, offer development, and store support initiatives across assigned regions. This role plays a key supporting function in facilitating monthly advertising calls, assisting with offer construction, analyzing traffic trends, and ensuring compliance with corporate marketing standards. The LMS works closely with stores, the Local Marketing Manager and, Field Marketing Director, and third-party agencies to execute and optimize local marketing initiatives.
This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong analytical skills, and enjoys working collaboratively across various teams.
  • Works extensively with Field marketing teams, store personnel and OEM partners to execute field marketing initiatives.
  • Supports cross-functional collaboration between stores, market leadership, and Corporate marketing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing & Offer Support
  • Assist in offer development, validation, and compliance with AutoNation, OEM, and legal standards
  • Facilitate the input and maintenance of promotional offers across digital platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Coordinate with corporate marketing partners for advertising asset production and campaign execution
  • Support the LMM in managing in-store marketing campaigns, grassroots initiative, OEM activations, etc.
  • Advertising & Communication Coordination
  • Assist in facilitating and documenting monthly marketing and advertising calls with store leadership
  • Support the development of monthly marketing reports, presentations, and recap materials for LMM presentation to store leadership
  • Ensure LMMs receive timely marketing updates and promotional materials
  • Traffic Analysis & Competitive Insights
  • Collect and analyze traffic trends, competitive pricing data, and market intelligence for the LMM.
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness and support the LMM in optimizing local marketing efforts based on data insights
  • Compliance & Quality Control
  • Ensure all local marketing assets meet corporate, OEM, and legal compliance standards
  • Support the certification and review process for promotional content across digital and print platforms
  • General Marketing Administration & Support
  • Assist in budget tracking, vendor coordination, and media planning support as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to the LMM, including scheduling and coordination of marketing activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • 2-4 years of marketing experience, preferably in a retail, automotive, or agency setting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with job management platforms (e.g., JIRA, Workfront)
  • Experience working with digital marketing platforms, website content management, and advertising coordination preferred
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with store personnel and vendors
