Job Summary
Under the guidance of the Medical Staff Affairs Director, the Medical Staff Affairs Coordinator will function as the primary source for credentialing and privileging for the Good Samaritan Medical Staff office. Further, the duties of the Coordinator include: processing privilege applications, reapplications, and delineation revisions for physicians and advanced practice providers, and auditing applications and verifications; maintaining documentation materials as mandated by the Joint Commission, NCQA, and other regulatory bodies; management of critical document expirations for medical staff; collaboration with medical staff department chairs and the Credentials Committee Chair to establish and implement provider competency threshold criteria; coordinating medical staff associated committees and meetings, and providing overall administrative support such as taking meeting minutes, supplying files for review, and generating communications for medical staff governance and stakeholders; providing exceptional service in all aspects to both internal and external customers; and collaborating and working with other team members of the Medical Staff Office. Being a team player, organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to provide cross-coverage are of the utmost importance to this position.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience with credentialing and privileging processes and requirements; a proven track record of exceptional organizational, communication, and customer service skills; proficiency with using various computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office; experience coordinating meetings for and collaborating with key medical staff stakeholders; and a strong background in regulatory compliance and process improvement efforts.

A Bachelor’s degree and over five years of credentialing and/or privileging and/or office administration employment experience preferred.
