Position Summary
Ensure material availability to satisfy production requirements while building stronger supplier relationships.
Role & Responsibilities
- Performs materials planning across the short, mid, and long term.
- Executes SAP MRP planning for materials.
- Plans & analyzes materials outside of SAP where the category requires.
- Follows up on exception messages (collective display list) in SAP.
- Confirms materials within the fixed zone and the planning time fence.
- Follows up weekly on PO confirmations and shares PO creation with suppliers.
- Shares rolling forecast with corresponding suppliers.
- Executes Forecast Accuracy Reporting Monthly for both internal and external partners.
- Leads material planning for new products or material changes.
- Maintains materials master data.
- Maintains master data for corresponding materials (MRP views 1–4).
- Audits master data against the safety stock system.
- Updates the safety stock calculator system, including new products.
- Owns phase-in/phase-out of materials for assigned material categories, to avoid material waste.
- Participates in New Product Development meetings for assigned brands; partners with owners of other categories as needed for material transitions.
- Ensures new materials are available on time for production runs.
- Orders materials according to plan to minimize inventory remnants during material transitions.
- Follows up on and executes action plans to eliminate obsolete/slow-mover inventory.
- Creates awareness of excess inventory risk during material transitions for supported brands.
- Maintains materials inventory at target levels.
- Monitors Days Forward Coverage and proactively moves out deliveries to maintain optimal inventory.
- Partners with MPS planners on action plans for slow-mover inventory.
- Creates awareness of excess inventory risk due to demand variability or supplier MOQs
- Performs monthly book to book inventory reconciliation with Co-packer or supplier location, as required
- Coordinates and performs annual physical inventories at all locations where PDI-Owned materials are stored, as required by finance and internal controls.
- Conducts monthly analysis and reviews with leadership as required.
- Follows up on rejected material returns to suppliers.
- Acts as vendor manager for assigned categories
- Resolves service and performance issues with suppliers.
- Escalates to procurement partners as needed for problem resolution.
- Performs any additional duties or tasks as needed by management.

Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Proven experience in purchase planning or supply chain planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong, data-driven analytical skills.
- Ability to lead projects assigned to achieve business objectives.
- Identifies business process opportunities and implement improvements.
- Strong strategic and business sense.
- Strong SAP and Excel skill set.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment.
