Job Summary
The Multimedia Intern enhances the Martin Luther King Center’s digital storytelling by capturing and producing engaging video, photo, and audio content. This role supports the Center’s mission by showcasing student experiences, promoting events, and documenting the impact of programs through multimedia formats.
- Photography & Videography Capture high-quality photos and videos of MLK Center events, programs, and student engagement activities for promotional and archival use.
- Video Production & Editing Edit raw footage into polished videos for event recaps, student features, and campaigns using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software.
- Social Media Support Create short-form video content (e.g., reels, stories, TikToks) to be featured on MLK Center social media platforms, in coordination with the Communications Team.
- Audio & Voiceover Projects Assist in developing audio content such as voiceovers that uplift student voices and center the experiences of communities on campus.
- Digital Asset Management Organize and archive multimedia content for future use, ensuring files are labeled, stored, and accessible to staff.
- Collaboration & Planning Partner with Signature Programming, Communications, and Graphic Design Interns to create cohesive multimedia campaigns for Center initiatives.
- Office Presence & Support Be present in the MLK Center for at least 7 active hours per week to support ongoing multimedia needs, collaborate with team members, and attend planning meetings. Total weekly commitment is 10 hours.
- Professional Development & Mentorship Participate in bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with the Associate Director or designated supervisor to review progress, build skills, and stay aligned with project timelines.
- Training & Event Support Provide multimedia support (e.g., photography, videography, or live social media content) for a minimum of five MLK Center-hosted events per semester. Occasional evening or weekend coverage may be required.
