Position Summary
The National Account Director is responsible for driving profitable growth across assigned national account customers through strategic business planning, customer relationship management, and execution of commercial objectives. This role leads annual planning, negotiations, and investment strategies while collaborating with cross-functional and distributor partners to achieve sales and financial goals. Success requires strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization.
Role & Responsibilities
- Build and develop strong working relationships with National Account “decision makers” and their subsequent teams. Accounts such as, but not limited to, Costco, Target, and BJs.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with National Account customers, Distributor teams, and Proximo Sales teams to identify growth opportunities and drive business performance.
- Work closely with Marketing Team to develop sales/marketing opportunities that are consistent with Brand Plans and National Customer strategies Monitor and communicate Retail Pricing monthly for specified area of responsibility.
- Lead annual planning, line reviews, Joint Business Plans (JBP), and promotional negotiations with national account customers to secure incremental distribution and merchandising opportunities.
- Analyse customer performance, category trends, competitive activity, and market dynamics to develop actionable recommendations that drive sustainable growth.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and business projections while proactively identifying risk and opportunities to achieve annual performance targets.
- Manage customer investment budgets, promotional funding, and trade spend to maximize return on investment while achieving volume, revenue and profitability objectives.
- Champion best practices and share customer insights across the commercial organization to enhance overall business performance.

Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 6 plus years’ relevant experience in the consumer goods industry, spirits experience and/or 3 tier distribution experience preferred.
- National Off Premise Account Experience Required.
- Demonstrated sales management abilities with proven success in delivering sales goals and objectives.
- Ability to build and maintain strategic working relationships with distributors and accounts
- Proven team leadership and people development skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to navigate sales reporting systems
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiation, time management and presentation skills required
- Must have a valid state driver’s license
