POSITION SUMMARY

The National Director (ND) will lead the Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Vietnam in fulfilling its critical, complex role as housing expert, convener, and lead implementer of innovative housing solutions. The ND is accountable to lead, direct, develop and manage HFHI resources ensuring quality, effectiveness and accountability in line with HFHI policies, protocols and standards. This role is also responsible for developing the capacity of the Branch Office to fulfill the purposes of Habitat for Humanity Vietnam. The position enables sound organizational growth through effective strategic and operational development, with an emphasis on collaboration, innovation and quality programming in alignment with HFHIs strategic goals.

Habitat for Humanity Vietnam is seeking a visionary and transformative National Director (ND) to lead its strategic direction, partnerships, and national impact. The ND serves as Habitat Vietnam’s chief representative and is responsible for strategy, operational excellence, resource development, stakeholder engagement, and safeguarding.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The National Director must be a compelling, transformative leader with 10+ years of NGO or development sector leadership experience encompassing the following:

• Casts a clear and transformative vision for the future of HFH Vietnam in alignment to the Regional and Global Strategic Framework, to position the organization as a leader in housing and a key convener to work within the housing system
• Builds a highly competent leadership team and empowering agile organizational culture capable of developing and implementing organizational strategy.
• Leads a wide range of diverse internal and external stakeholders through complex organizational change.
• Builds and leads multi-sector coalitions and strategic partnerships to successfully scale solutions and advocacy impact and expand funding support.
• Orchestrates wide-spread public and donor engagement and support of the organization's mission and strategy through a clearly articulated value proposition.
• Secures funding to support evidence-based, innovative, scalable solutions.
• Navigates the complexity of matrixed NGO structures, demonstrating collaboration with and accountability to local communities as well as local and international governance structures.
• Oversees operational excellence of a direct service organization, including safeguarding, financial management, monitoring and evaluation, and other quality controls.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international development, international relations, public administration, management, civil engineering, or social sciences.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

YEARS OF RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of Ten (10) years in a senior leadership role (Country Director, Chief of Party, senior Program Development/Program Management) in a humanitarian or development organization.
  • Track record in stewardship, servant leadership, and strategic organizational management.
  • Experience leading and building coalitions across public, civil society, non-profit, academic, and private sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilize resources through partnerships.
  • Proven track record in advocacy, with preference for experience in policy advocacy.
