Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to and over 50lbs; intermittently standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs; regularly sitting at a computer work station for extended periods of time with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasional risk of back injury from moving, lifting, or position patients, equipment, or materials; occasionally working at heights above 4 feet and working in confined spaces; occasional risk of injury from use of equipment on the job; intermittent (10-50% of the time) job-related travel

Shift

Monday through Friday primarily on day shift, but other hours and days of the week to accommodate the needs of the department

Job Summary

Nurse Residency Coordinator will be held responsible for the oversight, planning, implementation and evaluation of all activities related to the Nurse Residency Program. This individual is accountable to the Manager of Nursing Staff Development. This position requires the knowledge of and skill in: professional nursing theory and practice, leadership, adult teaching and learning, facilitation and collaboration, and communication. Knowledge, understanding, acceptance and support of the mission, vision, values, goals and objectives of the hospital are essential.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail; exceptional planning and organizational skill; effective written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of web-based surveys and electronic communications; understanding data management; schedule coordination; conflict resolution and critical thinking.

Preferred Education/Experience

Previous or current experience as an educator is preferred. Current or previous experience in Professional Development, Outcomes Management or Program Development preferred.
