Job Description

This role is integral to our Med Staff Quality Assurance department, collaborating with leaders to develop and implement systematic quality improvement strategies. The Coordinator ensures service line goals align with organizational objectives, driving overall strategic progress.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with quality and service line leaders to create scorecards, automating data extraction with the Business Intelligence Department.
  • Analyze performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and develop/maintain action plans with service lines.
  • Partner with the Medical Staff Office (MSO) for FPPE and OPPE processes, ensuring provider profiles are up-to-date for reappointment recommendations.
  • Assist with peer review activities, including for-cause FPPE, and coordinate Peer Review meetings with the Quality Medical Staff Program Coordinator.
  • Support the Quality Department in regulatory and accreditation preparation, navigating medical charts and accompanying inspectors as needed.
  • Ensure familiarity with assigned roles during regulatory visits, understanding administrative, operational, and clinical healthcare functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field (required), with 5+ years in a healthcare role.
  • Master's degree in healthcare, business, or health policy (preferred).
  • Current healthcare professional licensure, such as New Jersey Registered Nurse (required).
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (preferred) or Six Sigma Green Belt / Lean Certification (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care or equivalent experience with strong technical knowledge of healthcare functions (required).
  • Experience with healthcare quality data analysis (preferred).
  • Proficiency in clinical applications like Microsoft and Vizient (preferred), with training provided for new hires.
  • Demonstrate technical competencies as outlined in the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
  • Ability to work in a hospital environment with potential hazards, requiring frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
