Physical Requirements

May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Shift

Primarily 7:30a – 4:00p; Monday – Friday; some weekend and holiday requirement.

Job Summary

This Pharmacist position will provide comprehensive pharmacy services primarily to the CCU and general step-down teaching cardiology teams. However a broad spectrum of adult cardiology populations, including cardiothoracic surgery, advanced heart failure, interventional, and general cardiology floor/intensive care units may also be included. Services include participating in multidisciplinary care, medication management and monitoring, clinical interventions, research, teaching and precepting, and participation in Medical Center Committees.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Strong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

Preferred Education/Experience

PharmD degree, preferred. ASHP PGY1 residency and/or PGY2 specialty residency preferred.
