Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to and over 25lbs; occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 15lbs; sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time while performing repetitive motions (such as typing); standing for extended periods of time, sometimes greater than 5 hours per day; and traversing several miles across and on campus for meetings and work on a regular basis.

Job Summary

The Pharmacist Program Coordinator/UKHC -Telehealth/PrEP will support our outpatient pharmacy services. This innovative, patient-centered position will deliver care within a pharmacist-managed telehealth HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Program. This position will focus on conducting telehealth encounters to enhance access to HIV prevention services, optimize therapeutic outcomes, and ensure safe and effective medication use for patients interested in enhancing their sexual health. Pursuant to an approved Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Board Authorized Protocol, this pharmacist will provide comprehensive medication management and counseling for individuals seeking HIV prevention, conduct telehealth visits, order and interpret appropriate labs, order and dispense appropriate medication therapy, and coordinate care with primary care providers, infectious disease specialists, and other community partners as needed. The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient-centered care with a focus on sexual wellness while also being skilled in reviewing and managing complex medication regimens.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

PGY1 and/or PGY2 Residency in Infectious Disease, Med Safey, Drug Information, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution; and knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare related regulations and standards.
