Physical Requirements

May include standing or sitting for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Shift

Primarily dayshifts but may vary depending on services to be provided. May include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Hours, days of week, and location subject to change based on needs of the department.

Job Summary

Seeking qualified Pharmacist to: Directly manage daily operations and has legal binding through Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) licensure to ensure the unit meets departmental and organizational goals. Participate in the routine supervision and training of Pharmacist and technical staff related to daily operations of drug distribution. Compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written orders from physicians. Review and interpret prescriptions and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed and ensures that drug interactions are considered. Maintain inventory and records on narcotics and other forms of drugs. Pharmacist-In-Charge licensure required for legal responsibility of work unit.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Strong clinical and leadership skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.

Preferred Education/Experience

Pharm D with 5 years of pharmacy experience or Pharm D with PGY2 in Health System Pharmacy Administration preferred. Master’s degree in business and/or healthcare administration also preferred.
