Required Related Experience

2 yrs

Required License/Registration/Certification

Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Shift

The shift is day shift, mainly Monday-Friday with some weekend and holiday requirements.

Job Summary

The major job responsibilities of this position are 1) ordering and maintaining investigational drugs; 2) maintain accurate record keeping system for monitors; 3) prepare and distribute investigational drug orders, remake kits for individual studies; 4) IDS is authorized to charge for costs associated with Pharmacy participation in research which is processed by this position. Also performs drug distribution activities, compounds non-sterile preparations and prepares intravenous and or chemotherapy products in accordance with established procedures; maintains the clinical investigational work areas in a clean and orderly manner; performs workload measurement support functions; performs training/educational functions; performs cross-functional and other duties and responsibilities consistent with the job classification.

Preferred Education/Experience

Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
