Required Related Experience

Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology.
Fellowship training in Cardiovascular and/or Thoracic Imaging (or equivalent subspecialty training).

Eligibility for or current certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).

Must obtain Kentucky medical license upon appointment and maintain throughout the term of the appointment.

Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine Division of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Radiology is growing! We are seeking an exceptional diagnostic radiologist to join our team in a faculty role. Hybrid and remote-only options are also available!

The UK College of Medicine Department of Radiology is a strong, multidisciplinary team that is dedicated to advancing Kentucky health care together through world-class clinical care, innovation and research, and educating the next generation of physicians. Our department encompasses more than 60 faculty members and more than 500 staff.

The Department of Radiology is home to nationally recognized leaders in their fields that drive the mission of the institution forward. Radiologists interpreted more than 700,000 studies during the last year, covering our Level I Trauma Center with a census of approximately 700 beds, our NCCN-accredited Comprehensive Cancer Center, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, and our outpatient imaging facilities. This recruitment will support our continued growth, including: opening of a Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building, a new multi-disciplinary ambulatory care site, an expansion of our main hospital, and a new tower for Kentucky Children’s Hospital.

The Department is active in education. The Diagnostic Radiology residency program has 32 residents (8 per class). The Integrated Interventional Radiology residency has 10 residents (2 per class). The Department has both the Early Specialization in IR (ESIR) pathway and the Independent Interventional Radiology residency. The Department also boasts a Medical Physics Residency. Fellowships in Abdominal Imaging, Chest and Cardiovascluar Imaging, Breast Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Neuroradiology, Emergency Radiology, and Oncologic Imaging are available. For those interested in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, the accelerated pathway to dual ABNM and ABR certification is available. The Department also supports learners on the ABR alternate pathway. There are many opportunities to teach and interact with medical students as well.

The Department of Radiology participates in more than 50 on-going clinical trials across a variety of areas including, but not limited to, molecular imaging, oncology, theranostics, fMRI and neuro-imaging, interventional radiology, and AI. Faculty from the Department of Radiology published more than 50 manuscripts during the last academic year and were invited speakers at over 100 national or international conferences.
