Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences is a strong, multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing Kentucky health care together. Our department encompasses 37 faculty members, 122 staff members and 24 learners.

Each year, providers in the department see 140,000+ patient visits at 17 clinical sites. The department trains 24 residents and fellows across 8 accredited programs, while also contributing to the education of medical students and graduate trainees.

We are seeking a Medical Retina/Uveitis physician to meet the medical and
academic needs of the department. The successful candidate will join a group of physicians that are committed to excellence in clinical care, instruction, scholarly activity and professional development in a robust and growing practice across eastern and southeastern Kentucky.

The primary responsibility of the individual in this position will be to enhance the clinical practice of the Department of Ophthalmology as part of the medical retina and uveitis teams. This person will be responsible for providing direct patient care, service as an attending physician, training fellows, residents and medical students assigned to the Ophthalmology Department. The individual in this position is expected to provide, develop and maintain clinical services as well as develop academic pursuits.
