Job Summary
The University of Kentucky College of Medicine Department of Radiation Medicine is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor to join a growing team. This position supports the department’s missions of clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activity, with opportunities for professional growth within a comprehensive academic medical center. We are seeking a radiation oncologist who will provide CNS and Pediatric Cancer Care, as well as teaching. Responsibilities include:
• Clinical services, focusing on CNS cancers and pediatric cancers
• Teaching, including radiation oncology residents, medical physics residents, students in the Masters’ Program in Medical Physics, as well as medical students rotating through our clinic.
• Clinical research, ranging from enrolling patients in clinical trials to serving as Principal Investigator of Investigator Initiated Clinical Trials.
The UK College of Medicine Department of Radiation Medicine is a strong, multidisciplinary team of more than 120 people dedicated to advancing Kentucky health care together. Our department encompasses 21 faculty members, 65 staff members, and 34 learners. The department is home to Gamma Knife radiotherapy and nationally recognized for its brachytherapy program.
Each year, providers in the department care for more than 2,500 patients across two clinical sites. The department trains 14 residents and fellows across 3 accredited programs, while also contributing to the education of medical students and graduate trainees. Our department is part of a college with robust research programs and initiatives, contributing to the advancement of health across Kentucky and beyond. Faculty, staff, and learners contribute to high-impact, transdisciplinary research projects and have access to state-of-the-art facilities and technology on campus. 35+ alumni from the department can be found across the globe at academic medical centers, health systems, research institutions, and more.
