PLC and Controls Technician

Job Summary: Utilizes knowledge of PLCs and controls hardware to assist in day-to-day issue resolution and create solutions to larger more complex problems. Essential Functions:

• Work cross functionally with production and engineering departments to ensure goals & objectives are met.
• Develop timelines and prioritizes workload to meet schedule needs.
• Assist craftsmen with troubleshooting machines.
• Create and implement solutions to recurring issues.
• Report project status and action items to management on scheduled basis
• Research and purchase required outside materials when needed.
• Perform studies and coordinate process improvements
• Keep PLC programs and schematics up to date.
• Participate in cost savings projects
• Implement new tooling/fixture/machine concepts to reduce product cost
• Assist engineering department with all data management, engineering changes, and all other related engineering documentation when needed.
• Assist with customer activities/support as requested
• Expert knowledge or PLC & controls hardware and software.

• Associate degree (A. S.) in an industrial PLC & controls discipline or other technical discipline or applicable years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Background PrerequisitesMust undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing. Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD software is highly desired.
