Hydraulics International, Inc. (HII) is seeking a Press Brake Operator – Sheet Metal I responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of press brake machinery used to bend, form, and shape metal materials. This position requires a strong understanding of machine operations, metalworking, blueprint reading, and quality inspection to ensure parts are produced accurately, safely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal materials according to blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Select the appropriate tools, dies, and machine settings for each job.
  • Measure and inspect completed workpieces using calipers to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and machine guarding.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with production team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Identify and report defects or issues with materials, equipment, or processes to the appropriate supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in machine operation is preferred.
  • 3 years previous experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and procedures.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and machine setup calculations.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.

Salary Expectations

$25–$28 per hour
