Principal Crypto Wallet Architect
The Role
We are seeking a Principal Architect to lead the design and evolution of our custodial wallet platform at Fidelity Digital Assets™. This is a hands-on role that blends deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and cross-functional collaborations. Job responsibilities include:
- Wallet Architecture: Design, harden, and evolve our wallet infrastructure to ensure security, scalability, and extensibility.
- Engineering Enablement: Provide hands-on support to engineering teams to unblock critical paths, guide architectural and implementation decisions, and ensure consistency in design patterns.
- Prototype Development: Rapidly prototype and validate new ideas, tools, or technologies to de-risk initiatives and inform product direction.
- System Investigation: Partner with engineering to investigate root causes of complex system behaviors, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges.
- Code Quality Leadership: Conduct high-quality pull request reviews across squads to uphold engineering excellence and consistency.
- Technical Roadmap Influence: Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to shape and influence the technical roadmap.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 8+ years of experience
- Deep technical knowledge of at least one public blockchain protocol, transaction processing, and smart contracts – the ideal candidate has experience in multiple blockchains and with these projects in production environments
- Expertise in core Java technologies and frameworks like SpringBoot
- Proficient in SQL with working knowledge of database technologies such as Aurora PostgreSQL
- Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools such as Jenkins
- Experience with asynchronous workers and resilient messaging services
- Knowledge of systems, controls and techniques for identity, authorization, and authentication management
- Can provide leadership and mentorship across small, agile teams in a very collaborative environment where your ideas are welcome
- Solid analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- An interest in and experience with cryptocurrencies and a passion for keeping up to date in the space

Within Fidelity Digital Assets, the Architecture Team is responsible for the technical vision across Fidelity Digital Assets. The team works with both technology and business teams to design secure, scalable, resilient cloud-based services while ensuring that user requirements are met.
