Principal Data Engineer in Workplace Investing
Role
Fidelity's Workplace Investing Reporting and Analytics chapter is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to play a key role in improving and maintaining the Workplace Investing data warehouse which supports multiple key client applications including Reporting and Analytics.
This role is ideal for a developer who not only codes but provides design suggestions and recommendations. Works with technical partners, and assists developers and testers as needed. The role demands significant collaboration with members of various business and technology groups. Our engineering team is innovative, diverse, hardworking, and resolved. We work in a very dynamic agile environment.
Expertise in
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a technology related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) required.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Data engineering, data warehousing and analytics technologies
- 10+ years of experience with Relational Databases in specific Oracle (Exadata preferred)
- 8+ years demonstrated experience with PL/SQL and complex queries
- 5+ years on Database Performance tuning and techniques
- 5+ years of demonstrated ability with ETL tools like Informatica and data movement design patterns
- 5+ years of experience with scheduling tools like Autosys or ControlM
- 3 + Experience in Shell scripting (K-Shell, Bash)
- Design and development of data loading pipelines into databases to support reporting platforms.
- Demonstrable understanding of data modeling and data structures
- Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
- Your ability to collaborate with other technical and business minds across the firm.
- Understanding of Technology Lifecycle management standard methodologies
- Your experience in delivering projects in an Agile environment (Kanban and Scrum)
- Good understanding of financial services specifically in the plan sponsor & administration / Benefits & record keeping area.

- Experience with business intelligence and analytics tools such as OBIEE, PowerBI or Tableau
- Experience in AWS, Snowflake, Airflow.
