Job Description:
Fidelity Trade Management Engineering Group is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to be part of our OMS technology team.
Expertise we're looking for:
You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology with at least 8 years of hands-on development experience
You have excellent understanding of systems design that you can apply across different development technologies
You have built high throughput low latency OLTP systems in cloud
You are proficient in Java, Spring, RESTful services, and have proven expertise with cloud technologies such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
You have experience applying your technical skillsets using agentic development
You have a demonstrated history of guiding and mentoring junior team members on a path of solid engineering practices
You thrive in environment of collaboration, learning and problem solving
Previous exposure to trading systems or brokerage technology is strongly preferred

Work with product owners, analysts and architecture team on a frequent, recurring basis to design and influence technical improvements to the platform, team, and direction
Actively contribute to the design and implementation of engineering practices such as code and design reviews, cloud strategy, and build and deployment pipelines
Deliver high quality, timely, cost effective and maintainable software solutions to meet functional and non-functional business requirements
Able to clearly present complex technical solutions, ideas, and plans to senior management, business partners, and less technical stakeholders as needed
Develop a keen understanding of the business domain you are working on and actively guide technology discussions with business partners and other external parties
