As a Principal Systems Analyst, you will analyze both current and new business and technical processes, identify system interfaces and dependencies, and document process and system flows. Your role will involve reverse-engineering existing applications to informing the development of new ones, translating business functions into clear technical specifications. With Asset Management fully transitioned to the cloud, this is an ideal environment to advance your career in a fast-paced and high-visibility space. Our agile product area serves a prominent user base, giving you the chance to truly make a difference.

You will collaborate closely with various squads within the domain and across business and technology teams. Your insights will help assess systems, identify dependencies, and sequence work effectively. A deep understanding of existing applications and business processes will be essential as we evolve our platform with the latest technological advancements.

This is a great role for someone who aspires to be a squad lead and wants to learn from our very high performing squads.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 6+ years of experience in business-critical applications, with a strong advantage for those knowledgeable in Asset Management/ investment professional business-facing tools.

  • Analytical mindset capable of assessing the magnitude and impact of work at a granular level, down to individual user stories.

  • Proficient in navigating modern technologies, including service-based application tiers, SQL, and API design and validation.

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java or similar technologies is a plus.

  • Experience with both relational databases (e.g., Oracle) and non-SQL databases.

  • Moderate to advanced expertise in analyzing end-to-end processes, utilizing tools and techniques for data presentation and analysis, including REST API technologies.

  • Data-driven approach to decision-making, with the ability to measure, collect, and leverage data effectively while balancing intuition.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the technical acumen to drive outcomes and influence stakeholders effectively.

  • Expertise in defining test cases with appropriate detail, ensuring acceptance criteria align with real business value—essentially, ensuring we test the right elements.

  • Passion for guiding best practices and providing mentorship to fellow Systems Analysts as our team expands.

  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS, including familiarity with cloud migration strategies and tools.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity with flexibility and adaptability.
