The Role
The Brokerage Technology Trades Processing & Settlements Team in Fidelity Wealth Technology, is looking for a passionate systems analyst to dig into legacy systems to support modernization. Our Systems Analysts work closely with business, architecture and software engineering groups to deliver a roadmap for new systems.
The Purpose
As a Principal Systems Analyst on the team, you will be expected to quickly gain understanding of the components of our applications, data flow, integrations and inputs and outputs of the platform. The ideal candidate should be curious, detailed oriented and collaborative.
The Expertise You Have
- Knowledge of Mainframe COBOL, VSAM files and Batch/Online Process to support reverse engineering of the requirements from existing legacy system.
- Experience in supporting Systems Analysis for Cloud Applications developed using Java - Microservices, Restful APIs and Cloud services – AWS preferred
- Experience in Brokerage – Trades Processing and/or Settlements Domain
- Proven experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) preferably worked with DB2, Oracle and/or Postgres and digging into data using various query tools.
- Excellent collaboration and documentation skills with proven experience of working across multiple business and engineering teams to deliver complex E2E solutions
- Experience researching, optimizing, developing, and authoring solution requirements, user stories, and specifications for moderate to complex software systems.
- Proven professional experience as a Systems Analyst for software solutions, preference around modernizing from legacy to cloud systems.
- Proven experience with Agile development methodologies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving & interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or related technology discipline.

- Good knowledge of Behavior Driven Development – Gherkin/Cucumber
- Release coordination
- Be able to articulate complex system interactions through diagrams and crisp documentation to a wide spectrum of audiences
- Ability to understand the technical aspects of the software, including understanding of code to be able to understand the business logic, understand technical architecture
- Produce artifacts – business flow diagrams
- Have good understanding of solution architecture and partner with Architects, Business Analysts and tech leads
- Have end to end knowledge of system interactions and be able to articulate well to different audiences both technical and non-technical
- Prod incidents analysis – Splunk queries, build dashboards/alerts

Dynamic Working

We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of every other week in a Fidelity office.
The base salary range for this position is $60/hr - $80/hr.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
