Summary
As a principal business analyst, your role is to identify, investigate and advance business requirements in support of complex and large brokerage trading systems for FCAT. This candidate will be working closely with both business and technology key stakeholders.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are important for this role. A strong desire to drive to obtainable results with direct and frequent communication with management is needed for success in this position.
Candidate must be able to communicate effectively to multiple audiences from both technical and business perspectives. Possessing the ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries, within FCAT and across companies, by building and maintaining strong partnerships is extremely important.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
- College graduate in a technical degree that is driven to meet, or exceed, expectations.
- Transferable expertise in post trade lifecycle for Equity, Derivatives, digital asset products.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP).
- Hold strong understanding of equity trading, options, bookkeeping, tax systems and design systematic flows of a trading lifecycle.
- Proficient in conducting business analysis, writing requirements, designing, maintaining dynamic solutions & translating strategic objectives into action.
- Collaborated with database and solution architects to develop new solutions, creating relevant artifacts to deliver a functional specification, while conducting data mapping & data modeling exercise of new requirements
- Proficient in defining user stories to successfully execute on define-build-test cycles.
- Proficient using Confluence & JIRA
- Strong technical interest in financial services and ability to research and learn new technologies.
- Ability to think strategically and accept technical direction.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams.
- Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, and validation of implemented solutions.
The Purpose of Your Role
The principal business analyst is responsible for working closely with the Green Meadows squad’s product owner and tech lead to assist in a variety of tasks. Candidate must be comfortable working with a growing team of technologists in a fast paced and highly ambiguous environment bursting with emerging technologies.

Nice to have experience in:
- Income Tax system, particularly as it relates to tax informational form filings (e.g., 1099-B, 1099-MISC, 1099-INT, 1042-S, etc.)
- FINRA Broker dealer reporting (FOCUS, Net-capital 15c3-1, Customer reserve 15c3-3, etc.)
- Exposure to cloud-based technologies.
Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles. The hourly pay rate range for this position is $80.00 – $115.00 per hour.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors
