The Role

The Principal Business Systems Analyst partners closely with the Green Meadows squad’s tech lead and business stakeholders to drive clarity and execution across complex initiatives. This role requires collaboration with a growing team of technologists in a fast?paced, highly ambiguous environment that is constantly evolving with new products and technologies.

As a Principal Business Systems Analyst, you will identify, analyze, and translate business and system requirements in support of large?scale, complex brokerage trading systems for FCAT. This role will work on Account Opening, Customer Communications and Money Movement capabilities. You will work closely with key business and technology stakeholders, serving as a critical connector between strategy and execution.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 6+ years of relevant experience spanning business systems analysis, product management, or technical product roles, including use case development, data analysis, system flows, story writing
  • Exceptional critical?thinking and systems?thinking skills, with a shown ability to quickly understand complex system interdependencies and solve ambiguous business problems
  • Demonstrated ability to frame problems effectively, consistently asking “What problem are we trying to solve?” and challenging assumptions before solution design
  • Strong bias toward MVP?driven, phased delivery, with experience breaking large initiatives into incremental releases and avoiding big?bang approaches
  • Confirmed ability to translate between business intent and technical execution, converting loosely defined requirements into precise, actionable technical direction
  • Ability to serve as the main contact across between product, engineering, architecture, and team members, clearly representing both business objectives and technical implementation details (including third-party clients when needed)
  • Highly proficient in user and system story writing, UML sequence diagrams, and system/workflow documentation
  • Experience leading or influencing multi-functional teams across define?build?test cycles and the full product lifecycle, from concept through production deployment
  • Working knowledge of APIs, REST, SOAP, and JSON
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and SaaS environments preferred
  • Deep understanding of Agile development methodologies
  • Experience in financial services with brokerage domain experience a plus

What you will do

  • Serve as a core member of the product team, sharing accountability for strategy, discovery, and delivery of complex brokerage platform capabilities
  • Lead multi-functional collaboration across product, engineering, architecture, QA, and operations to define, deliver, and evolve scalable solutions
  • Drive clarity across ambiguous problem spaces by framing business intent, defining system requirements, and shaping pragmatic solution approaches
  • Evaluate solution alternatives and tradeoffs across cost, scalability, risk, and time?to?market
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of vendor agreements
  • Assess outcomes, measure impact, and inform roadmap evolution based on data and feedback

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles. The hourly pay rate range for this position is $80.00 – $115.00 per hour.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors
