POSITION SUMMARYWe are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Petmate. The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all production equipment operates efficiently and consistently meets output standards while maintaining product quality within specifications and minimizing costs. This role provides leadership and direction to the production team, focusing on hiring, developing, and retaining a skilled and motivated workforce to support operational goals and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Key Responsibilities:Foster a culture of teamwork and open communication tooptimizecustomer service and production efficiency.Oversee and implement training programs for new and existing employees, including orientation, safety protocols, and skill development.Ensure production targets are met according to the established schedule and quality standards.Conduct daily shift handoff meetings with incoming and outgoing supervisors toalignpriorities andmaintainoperational continuity.Plan and coordinate labor distribution,adjustingworkassignmentsand schedules in response to changing production demands.Monitor and manage daily labor efficiency, equipment downtime, resin specifications, and key performance indicators (KPIs).Verify silo readings, connect hoses, and cross-check documentation to ensureaccuratematerial transfers.Lead monthly safety meetings to reinforce safety practices and compliance.Assistwith regular physical inventory counts and reconciliation processes.Providing leadership, guidance, and support to direct reports and plant personnel.Partnering with cross-functional support teams to deliver effective training, coaching, and development programs.Promoting employee engagement and retention through mentorship, recognition, and career growth opportunities.Ensuring alignment of team goals with organizational objectives to drive operational excellence.Cultivating a collaborative and inclusive work environment that supports continuous improvement and accountability.Other duties as assignedbasedon business needs.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Requirements:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, technical documents, and government regulations.Skilled inwritingclear reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, and team members.Proficient in calculating figures such as percentages, proportions, area, volume, and other standard business and manufacturing metrics.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry in operational contexts.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address practical issues and adapt to variable situations.Capable of interpreting and applying instructions delivered in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formatsProficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems is preferred.Comfortable using technology to analyze data, streamline processes, and support operational decision-making.Demonstrated experience supervising professional staff and driving measurable improvements in plant productivity.Proven leadership in developing, coaching, andretainingtalent within a manufacturing environment.Bi-Lingual (Spanish) a plusEducation and Experience:High School DiplomaMinimum ofthree(3) years of relevant experience in plastics, manufacturing maintenance, or plant operations management.
