We have an opening for a Program Director & Faculty Lead - Health Science at our Chattanooga State campus!

POSITION SUMMARY

The Health Science Program Director serves as the academic and administrative leader for the Health Sciences Program within the Nursing & Allied Health Division, providing strategic vision, operational management, and instructional leadership. This role is responsible for ensuring the program’s academic quality, regulatory compliance, and alignment with institutional and accreditation standards.

In addition to administrative duties, the Program Director serves as the primary instructor for all core didactic courses, modeling excellence in teaching, student engagement, and assessment. The ideal candidate will bring a proven record of leadership in health sciences education, a commitment to student-centered learning, and the ability to work collaboratively with other Program Directors.

The Program Director oversees all aspects of program administration, including curriculum development, budget management, student recruitment, retention and success initiatives.

ESSENIAL FUNCTIONS

Holistic Student Support

• Oversees advising, academic planning, and support systems to ensure student success and program retention.

• Collaborates with internal support services such as Admissions, Student Support Center, Career Services, TCAT, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and more.

• Engages in student recruitment, orientation, and mentoring initiatives.

• Maintains open communication with students to monitor academic progress, address concerns, and ensure equitable outcomes.

  • Provides mentorship to students

Fiscal Stewardship

• Manages the program budget in alignment with NAH division and college goals.

• Maintains records for compliance, budgeting, and reporting.

• Monitors and manages instructional supplies, and for program delivery.

Organizational Culture

• Promotes a collaborative, student-centered culture within the program and across the division.

• Develops accountability practices that support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

• Collaborates with the dean and other program directors on strategic planning and quality assurance.

Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation

• Serve as primary instructor for all didactic courses in the Health Science Program.

• Leads curriculum development, course scheduling, and instructional delivery to ensure alignment with industry and accreditation standards.

• Coordinates adjunct faculty recruitment, onboarding, and professional development.

• Oversees programmatic assessments and participates in institutional effectiveness activities.

• Ensures the program complies with licensure, certification, and accreditation requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to build consensus and foster collaboration among faculty and staff.

• Effective communication.

• Knowledge of health science education, licensure/accreditation standards, and best practices in student support.

• Ability to analyze data for decision-making and continuous program improvement.

• Proficient in managing budgets, schedules, and program operations.

• Skilled in time management, multitasking, and administrative procedures.

• Commitment to student-centered leadership.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Master’s degree in Health Science, Health Education of closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution

• Minimum of three (3) years full-time teaching experience in a health science program or equivalent clinical experience in a healthcare setting

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to student success and continuous quality improvement

Preferred:

• Experience with program accreditation processes (e.g., CoARC, CAAHEP, ACEN)

• Experience in community college or higher education administration

Salary Range: $63,011 - $78,764
