Job Summary
Under general supervision of Director, is responsible for concurrent and retrospective data collection, entry and analysis to support staff peer review activities. Also responsible for ongoing communication with appropriate emergency department and hospital staff in order to augment and clarify data collected through chart review.
Essential Functions
- Coordinates medical staff Peer Review activities.
- Communicates effectively with hospital and medical staff to clarify and facilitate efficiency and accuracy of data collected.
- Performs data entry as assigned; assists with compiling physician profile data for reappointment.
- Communicates effectively with external agencies to which data is submitted, as needed.
- Performs data analysis through production of tabular or graphic display, when appropriate, identifies significant trends and/or problems and refers same to the appropriate individual or committee
- Routinely handles highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Coordinates designated Medical Staff and hospital committees.

- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate Degree or at least 10 years of experience within healthcare required
- Bachelor’s degree Preferred
- Medical Assistant Preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing as registered nurse with a license to practice professional nursing in state Preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- If licensed or registered, maintains current licensure or registration
Experience
- Five (5) years of relevant progressive work experience in clinical healthcare preferred, including a minimum of two (2) years direct experience in emergency department.
