KY State Limited X-Ray Machine Operator License or KY State Temporary Limited X-Ray Machine Operator License; Basic Life Support certification via AHA within 90 days of hire. Must obtain KY State Limited X-Ray Machine Operator License within one year of hire

Physical Requirements

This position requires regularly lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds; standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; working in confined spaces; occasionally sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing). Also involves some risk of injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; and exposure to radiation, burns, cuts/punctures, blood-borne or airborne pathogens, recombinant DNA or viral vectors, and combative/violent people.

Job Summary

The Radiology Limited X-ray Operator will provide diagnostic imaging for patients to assist the patient’s physician in expediting needed care. Job duties include performing or assisting in procedures per department protocols; maintaining a clean and safe work environment; utilizing proper procedures for identifying images, patients and marking images correctly for interpretation; and ordering exams that match the procedures being performed.

Customer service is essential, and this position will address patient needs with age-specific criteria, from neonates to geriatrics. This position will also assist in a QA review to maintain professional standards for themselves and student technologists that they are called upon to assist.

Attention to detail, accuracy, computer literacy, sensitivity to patient privacy, healthcare or medical office experience, patient care and excellent communicator.
