The Precision Rifle Shooter / Ballistic Test Operator is responsible for executing repeatable, instrumented rifle firing tests in a controlled range environment in support of product validation, accuracy testing, and ballistic performance characterization. Utilizing standardized training, operation, and certification for precision shooting systems used in a controlled test environment. The role is process-driven, not competitive with focus on fixture, rifle optic, ammo, and chronograph to measure performance is consistent, data integrity is held, procedural compliance is met, and safety discipline is adhered.
Essential Functions:
The minimum training, certification, and operational authority required to perform this role will ensure the firearm will be used in a safe and repeatable firing operation. The employee needs to work towards a consistent system setup and calibration while emphasizing accurate ballistic and data collection that is a accurate as possible. Documentation by the operator will be used for qualification and accountability of the firearm used.The Precision Rifle Shooter / Ballistic Test Operator is responsible for formal accuracy and ballistic test plans, setup and operate shooting fixtures, and return-to -battery systems. Responsible for mount, adjust, and verifying optics per documented procedures while operating Garmin Chronographic, and Oakwood electronic target systems. The goal of collecting velocity data and accuracy measurements while verifying the rifle system readiness is key to performing in this position.The operator will be accountable for adhering to all safety rules and standards of operation as set forth by Daniel Defense and followed throughout the property including the ranges used for collecting data. The operator will be responsible for equipment conditions and configuration control while recording data for accuracy and completeness.Operator will be familiar with or will train to be competent with Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro Rifle system or an equivalent precision system Knowledge with Garmin chronograph systems, Oakwood electronic target systems, associated mounts, tripods basses and fixtures. Employee will be trained on fixed and adjustable shooting fixtures and Rifle-mounted optical sights with adjustable diopter and parallax.Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environmentProvides adequate support, training and development to team members to continuously improve Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by management.

Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the workday.Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
