Job Description
Position Purpose:
Manages and leads a team of employees. Communicate company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to the team. Motivates team members and assesses performance. Provides help to management on training, and keeps management updated on team performance.
Primary Duties/responsibilities:
- 1. Receive all incoming shipping documents into the AS400 ensuring all information is present and accurate.
- Prepare internal paperwork to enable operations to off-load receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform QA/QC on all incoming manifests, Land Disposal Restriction and UHC forms and other required documents to ensure all information is present and accurate and in compliance with state, federal, and site regulations.
- Sign, date and distribute manifests in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Ensure load and manifest discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner and in compliance with all state, federal requirements.
- Ensure all receipts are released to billing in a timely and accurate manner.
- Interact with waste tracking and billing to ensure all receipts are downloaded and accurate.
- Ensure all receiver numbers are accounted for and billed, including voids, cancellations, and no shows.
- Respond to phone inquiries from internal and external customers and follow-up as appropriate.
- Develop a good understanding of the regulations and site capabilities.
- Ensure all information in the AS400 is present and accurate for regulatory reporting.
- Other work-related duties as assigned.
- Motivates and inspire team members.

- Discover training needs and provides coaching.
- Answer team member questions, helps with team member problems, and oversees team member work for quality and guideline compliance.
- Communicate clear instructions to team members.
- Keep Supervisor informed of task accomplishment, issues and direction.
- Provides guidance to the team based on management direction.
- Help keep the team focused and on track.
- Lead by setting a good example (role model).
- Supports team and performs management duties when Supervisors are absent or out of the office.
- Bill rail cars in an accurate manner. This includes scheduling and billing.
- Coordinate and contact transporters and TSDF facilities to schedule facility Outbound loads.
- Assist the Transportation Supervisor on all transportation requests. This includes assuring all necessary paperwork is ready and accurate for all transporters including brokers.
- Coordinate transportation jobs and contact transporters and TSDF facilities, when necessary for transportation requests.
- Review invoices and create POs for all transportation jobs.
- Understand and perform accurate rejection procedures in the system and on manifest.
- Understand, fix and make a notation on manifests for a variety of discrepancies in an accurate manner.
- Create discrepancy letters to the State in an accurate manner.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background:
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
- Experience using AS400 and Microsoft Office
