Position Summary: Position Summary The Receptionist plays a key role in providing exceptional patient service and supporting the clinical team in a fast-paced wound care and preventative health setting. This position is responsible for greeting and checking in patients, managing scheduling and communication, and assisting with proactive patient outreach for care coordination and hospital discharge follow-up. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Essential Job Functions: Essential Duties & Responsibilities Front Desk & Patient Check-In • Greet and check in patients promptly and courteously. • Verify patient demographics, insurance, and contact information at each visit. • Collect co-pays and assist with financial paperwork as needed. • Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area. • Manage inbound calls and voicemails, ensuring messages are relayed to the correct staff. Scheduling & Coordination • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments efficiently to optimize clinic flow. • Coordinate follow-up appointments for wound care and preventative screenings. • Maintain provider schedules and communicate any changes to staff and patients. • Support referral coordination and record requests as needed. Patient Outreach & Preventative Care • Call patients recently discharged from hospitals or emergency departments to ensure follow-up appointments are scheduled. • Contact patients due for care gap services (e.g., diabetic eye exams, A1C labs, foot exams, mammograms, annual wellness visits). • Document outreach efforts and outcomes accurately in the EHR. • Collaborate with the clinical team to identify and engage high-risk or overdue patients. Administrative Support • Assist with faxing, scanning, and uploading documents into the electronic medical record (EMR). • Support provider and nurse workflows with administrative tasks as assigned. • Monitor clinic email and encrypted team messages for updates or action items. • Help maintain office supply and front desk inventory. ________________________________________
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or medical office coursework preferred.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting preferred.
- Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Athenahealth, Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar).
- Familiarity with wound care, preventative health, or care coordination is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use.

Hours: Schedule & Compensation • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 to 5 PM • Compensation: Based on experience; competitive hourly wage with benefits available.
