Job Description
As a Registered Nurse in our Pre-Op and PACU areas, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe surgical experience for our patients. You will work closely with our healthcare team, providing the necessary equipment, supplies, and support to the physicians. Your commitment to quality customer service, performance improvement, and teamwork will contribute to our organization's success. Prior Ambulatory Surgery Center experience is preferred but not mandatory.Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care and family support throughout the three phases of the surgical experience.
- Assist physicians with equipment, supplies, and support in the Pre-Op and PACU areas.
- Ensure a high level of quality customer service to patients and their families.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and continuous learning.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other staff.
- Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- Promote a positive and supportive work environment.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's in nursing preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey is required.
- BLS certification is mandatory upon hire or transfer.
- ACLS and PALS certifications are required, as designated by specialty.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to schedule changes.
- Prior experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred but not essential.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred, with training provided for new hires.
- Ability to work in a busy, noisy environment with frequent interruptions.
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and quick walking.
- Commitment to teamwork, cooperation, and a patient-centric approach.
