Job Summary

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is currently seeking a Research Protocol Manager Senior to work at the Shriner’s clinic location.

Position will coordinate multiple clinical trials in Ophthalmology research program. Position responsibilities include working with the IRB, granting agencies, physicians and patients.

Management of research data and reporting of adverse events. Direct contact with patients is required. Will prepare Informed Consents and maintain confidential records.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Comprehensive understanding of related scientific terminology, grants management activities, and fiscal management. Ability to independently identify and problem-solve complex/non-routine problems. Program administration experience including strategic planning, infrastructure building, project management, and database creation/management. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, strong oral/written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrate organizational leadership, personnel management, task prioritization, and presentation skills. Computer and web-based application proficiency to include designing forms and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Education/Experience

Master’s degree and at least 8 years research experience. Management experience highly preferred. Additionally, research certification (SOCRA, ACRP, etc.) also preferred.
