Job Summary

The Markey Cancer Center is recruiting for a Research Analyst to work in a wet lab performing technical lab assistance including: maintaining a large colony of transgenic mouse models which would involve careful monitoring and genotyping; RNA/DNA isolation, qPCR, western blot, plasmid amplification, ELISA and IHC staining. Organizing and analysis of data using Excel or Photoshop; lab maintenance, ensure compliance with general lab safety guidelines along with UK and government regulations; must be able to keep an accurate and detailed scientific notebook both hard copy and electronic.

This position will have a fully on-site work arrangement.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Photoshop, basic wet lab skills, knowledge of UK and government guidelines and policies for lab compliance, ability to work effectively with mice.
Cell culture, Crypt isolation from intestine, organoid culture, RNA/DNA isolation and real-time PCR, western blotting, IHC and IF staining, genotyping and maintaining mouse colonies, sacrificing mice and collecting tissues, electronic laboratory notebook
