Research Study CoordinatorUIW MissionPosition SummaryThe Research Study Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of a multi-year, school-based and clinic-based clinical research study conducted through the Rosenberg School of Optometry. The Research Study Coordinator reports to the Assistant Professor of Vision Science.This is a grant-funded position with. Appointment duration is expected to be 12 months per year during study Years 1 and 2, and 9.6 months per year during study Years 3 through 5, contingent upon continued funding and satisfactory performance.Essential FunctionsJob DutiesKnowledge Skills and Abilities• Knowledge of informed consent processes, IRB requirements, and GCP standards.• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.• Ability to use personal vehicle to travel to local schools and clinic sites; may occasionally use UIW vehicle.• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.Required EducationBachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Clinical Research, or a related field.Required Work ExperienceOne (1) year of research experience in an academic, clinical, or laboratory setting.Preferred Qualifications• Three (3) years of experience directly coordinating research studies.• Experience supporting federally funded grants (NIH, DoD, NSF).• Relevant certification such as CRC (Clinical Research Coordinator).• Prior experience coordinating clinical or human subjects research.• Experience with REDCap or similar electronic data capture systems.Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsMust have a valid driver's license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.Work HoursMonday through Friday 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals.Physical Demands• Ability to actively engage in program events for extended periods of time.
