Retention Specialist for the ASAP (Advancing Success in Associate Pathways) Program

Jefferson Community College, located in Watertown, New York, and part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is conducting a search for a full-time Retention Specialist for the ASAP (Advancing Success in Associate Pathways) program. This position involves managing a caseload of 155 students and providing academic, financial, personal, advising, career, and transfer support to them. The Retention Specialist will meet with each student monthly to ensure their academic success. Additionally, they will collaborate with other departments on campus for student programming and retention efforts. This position may require some evening and weekend commitments. Professional staff are expected to support the College's emphasis on student success and completion. They will work closely with the College's leadership to further the objectives outlined in the current strategic plan.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three (3) years of appropriate professional experience.

Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Salary: Begins at $47,589 and varies based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement as well as internal equity.
